Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where do you get your dogs?
A. From reputable breeders. We either purchase them or they are donated to us.

Q. What happens to dogs that don't make the program?
A. In the past, we would place the dogs up for adoption. Now we have different programs such as the Youth Service Dog Program where the dog can be placed without compromising the dog's health.

Q. Can you train my dog to be a service dog?
A. Yes. The dog must first pass a temperament evaluation and health screening to make sure it is trainable and physically able to work as a service dog.

Q. Do you train other types of service dogs?
A. We are in the process of implementing programs to train dogs for the deaf or hearing impaired.

Q. How much does it cost to get a service dog from Suport Dogs, Inc.?
A. A $50.00 application fee is the only charge.
