Support Dogs is a registered 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping people live more independent lives at no cost to those we serve. We are able to do this because of the generous contributions we receive in funds and in time from those who support our mission. Support Dogs receives funding from the United Way of Greater St. Louis, from fundraisers held throughout the year, and from grants that help to underwrite programming. However, the largest source of funding is from individual and corporate donors who support our programs and allow us to provide the services to so many in the community.
By making a donation to the organization, you can help with the placement of an assistance dog, or the training of a TOUCH or Paws for Reading team. Every contribution to the organization helps someone who is waiting for independence or who can benefit from the visit from a specially-trained canine. Donations are the vehicle that allows us to change and save lives every single day and every donation is tax-deductible.
Giving of time is also important as we serve well over 100,000 people every year and would not be able to do so without the generosity of time given by our volunteers. Volunteers help to pay it forward and make the world a better place for those who have come to rely on the services and programs of Support Dogs. The gift of time will transform a lifetime.
Get involved – whether it be as a donor, volunteer, or both. Your gift is important to so many and will make an impact for someone by opening the doors to independence, allowing them to live more freely, have the confidence to face life’s challenges, and provide the self-esteem that is a given right to us all.
